Ford intends to begin selling an electric version of the Focus in 2011 in America, and in 2012 - in Europe.
Ford Focus Electric will be equipped with lithium-polymer battery, providing him a power reserve of 160 km. Charging the battery will be carried out on household electric 220 or 110 V.
In Focus Electric will also be used with liquid cooling system batteries, which will help extend battery life: protection from overheating and prevent formation of cracks in the electrodes, in addition, heating batteries in the cold will raise productivity. Charging from the network also will not start until the battery is automatically brought to operating temperature.
